Today’s commercial workboat industry is receiving pressure from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for reductions in hydrocarbon emissions. The EPA and port cities recognize that the emissions from marine diesel engines contribute to ozone and carbon monoxide nonattainment as well as adverse health effects associated with ambient concentrations of particulate matter and visibility, haze, acid deposition, and nitrification of water. Currently the EPA Tier 3 Emission Standards apply for most vessels using in-use marine diesel fuel. Tier 4 Emission Standards will begin to take effect for some classes in 2015 forcing commercial marine operators to use after-treatment technology. This means marine engines would need to be re-equipped with systems that inject urea into the exhaust to reduce pollutants. However, this outdated technology designed in the 1970’s has been proven over and over to be costly and ineffective to significantly reduce emissions and will not meet increasing EPA emission reduction guidelines. Now there is another option utilizing new technology that will not only dramatically reduce emissions but will also significantly reduce fuel costs by simply adding a small amount of a liquid catalyst called DieselFusion to your fuel. Created using the latest developments in nano technology, DieselFusion’s patented fuel catalyst dramatically reduces emissions of NOx, SOx and PM up to 80%, increases lubricity in low-sulfur diesel fuel, extends engine life and reduces fuel costs. DieselFusion has been extensively tested to be safe for your engine and the environment.
Reduces emissions of NOx, SOx and PM required for EPA and MARPOL Standards.
When introduced into diesel fuel, DieselFusion’s particular nanoparticles cause a complex reaction that transfers an electron to the reacting molecules causing a delocalization of the electron cloud creating a chemical and molecular process of reverse catenatation. This process causes the polar bonds of the inefficient long chain hydrocarbons to weaken resulting in shorter hydrocarbons that burn more efficiently. As a result of a cleaner burning fuel, emissions such as Lead (Pb), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Oxide (N0x), Sulfur Oxide (S0x), Sulfur Dioxide (S02), Sulfur Trioxide (S03), Unburned Hydrocarbons (HC), Sulfur (S), and particulate matter or soot (PM) are dramatically reduced. DieselFusion’s molecular charged nanocatalyst also bonds with less negatively charged Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4) compounds, the leading cause of Acid Rain, and chemically alters it into Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO4), which is a neutral compound (Mg0 + H2S04 → MgS04 +H20).
Improves lubricity in ultra low sulfur diesel fuel mandated by the EPA
DieselFusion’s charged nanoparticle micro lubricant blends with diesel fuel increasing lubricity in EPA mandated ultra low sulfur fuel. In laboratory tests, DieselFusion is shown to improve fuel “lubricity”. Lubricity is the measure of diesel’s lubricating quality.
- Fuel treated with DieselFusion will cause less abrasive wear as it flows through the precision high pressure components of a modern Tier III/IV engine.
- In Bio-Diesel fuels (E10 & E15), fuel system damage due to abrasion is a serious industry concern. DieselFusion will improve both E10 & E15 Bio-Diesel fuel to provide better component life.
Improves fuel economy and efficiency while maximizing power output.
When DieselFusion is added to marine fuels, it begins the process of reverse catenation, a catalytic process that separates and shortens the long-chain hydrocarbons on a molecular level. This produces a more powerful and highly refined hydrocarbon fuel that burns more efficiently, causing a significant increase in fuel economy, horse power, and torque.
- Fuel consumption will be reduced between 8 – 18% depending on the engine’s load factory – higher load factors will deliver higher benefits.
Improves diesel fuel’s Cetane rating.
Laboratory tests (SWRI) have confirmed DieselFusion will increase fuel’s cetane number when blended with diesel fuel. Cetane number is a measure of fuel volatility/combustibility. Higher cetane numbers indicate better compression ignition propagation, engine starting characteristics and power development.
Lubricates and protects marine engine extending engine life.
DieselFusion’s micro lubricant also creates a reactive polar bond that attaches to the surface of the internal components of the engine providing a protective layer for the fuel system, engine seals and gaskets. This layer reduces friction between moving parts, cushions moving parts against shock, and helps with compression by sealing micro gaps between piston rings and cylinder walls. Our micro lubricant also protects vital engine components from rust, corrosion, and deterioration caused by water and alcohol in the fuel. The lubricated internal engine components stay cleaner, smoother and protected extending the life of your engine.
Removes dangerous carbon and other abrasive deposits.
A byproduct of combustion is carbon, which collects and hardens on the cylinder heads, cylinder walls, pistons and valves. Carbon and other dangerous deposits in the combustion chamber effect engine performance, resulting in increased oil consumption, engine knocking and overheating. With continued use, DieselFusion slowly removes carbon and other deposits by attaching to and re-burning them. The removal of carbon build-up on valves, valve stems, cylinder walls and piston crown/ rings in diesel engines greatly increases engine efficiency while boosting engine performance. See Intake Valve Motor 20 Hour Test
Eliminates diesel knock and pre-detonation from poor combustion control.
Diesel knock and pre-detonation are serious conditions that reduce power and damage your vessel’s engine. They are due to an erratic form of combustion that occurs because the fuel is subjected to either too much pressure or heat. DieselFusion eliminates these dangerous and destructive conditions by creating a more efficient fuel burn. It also creates a consistent combustion temperature within the cylinder, making engines easier to start in extreme hot or cold temperatures.
Decreases algae growth from bacteria, fungus and yeast biomass.
Tests have also shown a significant reduction in algae growth from bacteria, fungus and yeast biomass in diesel and bunker fuels.

Lubricates and protects marine engine from damaging effects of Ethanol Blended fuels.
Ethanol enhanced fuels have been proven to damage vital internal engine components and fuel systems. The solvents in Ethanol not only destroy fiberglass, plastics and gasket material over time but significantly reduce engine life, fuel economy, horsepower and potentially clog inline fuel filters with fuel varnish and gum.
PetrolFusion’s patented formula has been proven by a 3rd party testing facility to protect engines and their fuel systems from ethanol/alcohol blended fuels. PetrolFusion’s nano particle composition lubricates internal engine components and forms a protective layer on vital engine seals and gaskets as it passes through the system. It reduces friction between moving parts, cushions moving parts against shock and helps with combustion by sealing micro gaps between piston rings and cylinder walls. Our micro lubricants also protect vital engine components from rust, corrosion and deterioration. The lubricated internal engine components stay cleaner, smoother and protected which will dramatically extend the life of your engine. See The Damaging Effects of Ethanol Blended Fuels

Stabilizes fuel and protects marine fuel systems during extended periods of storage.
Fuel deteriorates during extended periods of non-use. In as short as two weeks, untreated fuel begins to break down, collect moisture and corrode your entire fuel system. Fuels containing Ethanol pose the most risk. The active ingredients in PetrolFusion helps to protect vital engine components for up to 5 months. It also prevents gum and varnish formation, keeps the fuel system clean, inhibits corrosion and maintains octane.
Decreases Phase Separation from water contamination in fuel.
Phase separation begins when water is added to fuel through condensation or other means. In ethanol-blended gasoline fuels, suspended water and alcohol bond together and settle to the bottom of the fuel tank causing significant water accumulation. After phase separation, the fuels remaining above the water will lose valuable octane points. When fuel is diluted below proper levels required for proper combustion, it causes disastrous effects on internal engines components. PetrolFusion has been independently tested by BoatingLab and proven to reduce phase separation by improving water molecule suspension.
Reduces dangerous emissions for a cleaner and safer environment.
PetrolFusion’s key properties were discovered through a research and development project launched to find ways to help protect our environment from the effects of burning fossil fuels. Through years of testing, our chemists have proven consistently that using PetrolFusion will reduce dangerous emissions such as Lead (Pb), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Oxide (N0x), Sulfur Oxide (S0x), Sulfur Dioxide (S02), Sulfur Trioxide (S03), Unburned Hydrocarbons (HC), Sulfur (S), and particulate matter or soot (PM).
