Even when you’re up to date on all the check-ups a yacht needs, keeping everything in ship shape is no mean task. These three companies offer products that may help lighten your load.

Interlux Offers Copper-Free Micron CF AntiFouling Paint

Interlux recently introduced Micron CF, a new addition to its line of antifouling paints. Expected to have the same longevity as copper-based antifouling paint, Micron CF is a copper-free alternative formulated with less solvent to meet the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) regulations across the United States. The paint is currently available in crisp black, shell white, red, green and blue.

AquoFusion Brings Nanotechnology to Marine Fuel Treatments

Among the new fuel treatments and additives joining the marketplace is a product by AquoFusion. This nanotechnology-based fuel treatment alters the way in which hydrocarbons react to oxygen. The process helps reverse catenation and lengthens hydrocarbon bonds, improving fuel economy and maximizing output. It also removes abrasive deposits, helping the fuel burn clean with lower-emission rates. A 10-ounce bottle of AquoFusion treats 400 gallons of gas or diesel fuel.

Northern Lights Shows off Its Diesel Exhaust Cleaning System

Northern Lights featured its new Diesel Exhaust Cleaning System (DECS) at the Miami boat show. The DECS routes exhaust gas through a catalytically coated ceramic filter. The heat produced by the engines continuously burns off particulates, helping reduce carbon monoxide by up to 98 percent and diesel hydrocarbons by up to 95 percent. This is not only good for the environment, but improves the air quality for those on board and reduces the maintenance on exterior surfaces normally blackened by soot. Another bonus? The DECS is application specific and can be made to fit in almost any engine room.
